Everyone affects Everyone

“That there are no random acts. That we are all connected. That you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the wind.”

This quote is from the novel “The Five People You Meet in Heaven” by Mitch Album. The

quote means that in a way everyone affects everyone. When Album writes, “That we are all

connected.” He doesn’t mean literally attached. What he means is that everything anyone

does will affect the outcome of things. Anything you do will affect someone else.  Even the

tiniest things, whether it be what you say, or something you dropped, or even just where

you’re going. He uses the metaphor at the end of the quote as just another example. “That

you can no more separate one life from another than you can separate a breeze from the

wind.” You can’t separate the breeze from the wind. The same way you can’t stop your

actions from affecting someone else.
